I have finally decided which laptop is for me... the i9300. I am contemplating on the following specs:

    Intel® Pentium® M Processor 750 (1.86 GHz/2MB Cache/533MHz FSB) (for an extra $100.00) ($100 to get from 1.7 to 1.86.. worth it? reason i ask is everyone i see has the 1.86)

17 inch UltraSharp™ Wide Screen UXGA Display with TrueLife™ (extra $125.00) (Truelife worth it for gaming?)

512MB Dual Channel DDR2 SDRAM at 533MHz 2 Dimm (will upgrade to 1 gig with newegg)

    256MB NVIDA® GeForce™ Go 6800 (extra $200)

    60GB 7200rpm Hard Drive (extra $109)

Intel® PRO 2915 and Dell 350 Bluetooth Internal Wireless Cards (extra $59) (worth paying more for bluetooth?)

6-cell Lithium Ion Primary Battery (53 WHr)

3Yr Ltd Warr,At-Home Service, and Tech Support plus Nights and Weekends (extra $279)

its a DTR that can game and take notes at school. Only thing stopping me from not ordering it now is that it will not all me to use the $750 off coupon (D5VQC5TVF8SXDF) OR the %35 off coupon (CSFNLP484P73S6) Help would be appreciated guys!

Our coupons are only valid on Dell USA Home site (not business or any international site). You have to have your total price above a certain price, listed below. Once you add it to your cart, copy the coupon code and paste it. Then you can apply it. You should see it take off the discount amount.

    D5VQC5TVF8SXDF ---$750 off purchase of Inspiron $1899+
    CSFNLP484P73S6 ---- 35% off purchase of Inspiron $999+

I know the 35% is still valid, so I'm going to assume that the 750 is still valid.

Just checked the 35% off coupon, it still works fine. Although I did have some problems using the FireFox web browser, it would work some times and other time it wouldn't work. Internet Explorer worked fine.

For both coupons, I believe you have to follow specific links. You can't just go to the site, click on the laptop and enter it. The versions that coupons work with have limited options and, joy of joys, are substantially more expensive (before coupon) than the normal laptop configurator comes out to.

Ex: I priced a 700m out to $1900 and waited for coupons to come out. Set a "coupon valid" 700m up with the same specs and it came out to $2150. Still $400 off (with the $750 off coupon), but it irritated the crap out of me. I passed the offer.

Aww i see the problem. I was choosing the basic i9300 then customizing it. When i choose the most expensive one then customize it works great! Thanks guys! By the way, if i just get the cd burner / dvd drive instead of the dvd/cd burner will it make any difference battery/performance/noise wise?(besides being able to burn dvds =P)

Sometimes when you have this problem, just start over again, also if the coupon does not work, try customizing a system the next tier up from the one you are trying to customize, that worked for me.

No, there is not a difference in power consumption, performance, or noise. It all depends on which drive type you get. The Sony's are louder than the NEC drives. I have a NEC drive and love it while a friend of mine has the Sony drive in his i9300. He does not have any problems with his though his drive is slightly noiser than mine. Keep your original configuration but I would not get the 1.8GHz Pentium M as it will increase gaming performance by 1-2FPS from the 1.7GHz Pentium M. Save the extra $100 and put it towards your RAM, that way you can get 2GB of RAM and your i9300 will really kick in games.
