Ok, so I got a headset, which I plugged into my laptop. As soon as I unplugged it, the speakers do not work, and in order to have sound, I must plug in my headset and listen through that.

    Any suggestions/help?

    Thanks

    Are your speakers on mute?

How would I know if they are? But I'm pretty sure they aren't, otherwise why would my speakers work??

    Waitaminute. You lost me.

Do your speakers work or not?

Double click on the speaker icon in your system tray. Go to Options -> Advanced controls, then click on the advanced button and see if your pc speaker is muted.

Ok, so I'm not sure what to do, I go to it and the mute is not checked, but the Wave, SW Synth, and CD Player Volumes are not all the way up...should I change that?

Also, when I click on the advanced thing, a box is checked called "SPDIF Interfaces" should I uncheck that?

Set the volume levels however you want. I prefer in the middle. No, you don't need to uncheck SPDIF interfaces.

zdknight, Did you check the sound settings yet? I am not sure why the internal speakers are staying off/muted after you unplug the headphones, but the audio properties is definitely the first thing I would check. From that it sounds like (no pun intended), popnpoper got his to work just by adjusting the volume settings. If that doesn't work, or you have other questions about the system I will be happy to answer them for you.
