I reformated and replaced the hard drive on my Dell 1505 a couple months ago. All worked well except for something with the touchpad. It works in the fact that I can navigate around with it, click/double-click, but I can't use the horizontal or vertical scroll.

In fact, when I go to Control Panel, Mouse, the options to adjust that don't show up like they used to.

I assume it's a driver situation? I successfully downloaded a lot of drivers when I reformated my laptop but I forget how and where I did it.

    Can someone help me out?

    Thanks in advance!

I believe its the driver. Try getting it from support.dell.com. It would fall under "Input Device Drivers" and you should find one for touch pad or something. The Dell Touchpad will allow you to do those finger gestures.

OK, I tried that. I put in E1505, input device drivers, and it brought me to a page that had multiple downloads for mouse and touchpad.

I clicked on the one that said Synaptics - Driver which applies to: Touchpad

and it downloaded OK. But when I went to execute the file, it tells me "There are no files to download. Please go to Drivers and Downloads to select file(s)" HUH??

Here is the url of the page I visited.

Am I picking the wrong one?

Also, I am using Mozilla Firefox to download so I'm going to try using Chrome or IE. Maybe that is the issue...

    Thanks!

Using the link you provided, and clicking Synaptics Touchpad I was able to download the file fine. Try using IE because I know Firefox has that build in download manager thing, might have caused an issue. The "R120179.EXE" ran fine aswell...
