My touchpad on my Dell Inspiron E1505 works in the fact that I can navigate around with it, click/double-click, but I can't use the horizontal or vertical scroll. Furthermore, when I go to Control Panel, Mouse, the options to adjust that don't show up like they used to. Also, when I first double click on Mouse (from Control Panel), it says "Unable to connect to the Synaptics Pointing Device Driver".

I had this problem last year http://forum.notebookreview.com/del...oblems-touchpad-wont-scroll-need-drivers.html but it now has popped up again.

I assumed it was yet again a driver issue so I have already gone on to the Dell Support site and downloaded the R120179.EXE file. I executed it and it ran through OK. It told me it was successful and I had to reboot for it to work, so I did reboot.

But still no scrolling. I executed it again and reboot again but no luck. What can I do to get scrolling back on my touchpad?

    Thanks in advance.
