I am kind of a newbie when it comes to buying a dell since this would be my first time...I wanted to know the procedure of buying a dell from the website and also the procedure of buying by calling them up...
So if anyone could tell me in some detail or atleast give a link where it has been explained before it would be really helpfull!!!!

Hey there! :) What Model are you looking to buy? ;)

I would suggest you configure the lappy you want..at dell.com, and *save it to your cart*! Then, call Dell and speak with a Rep..*advise this is what I want...what is the better deal you can give me, if I purchase today*!!

Also, if you check Dell's site you may find some Instant Deals, and also be sure to check sites such as: slickdeals.net, cheapstingybargains.com, xpbargains.com, and techbargains.com...for any coupons codes/deals that may be currently running and applicable to your purchase! ;)

Here is a nice guide written by Les:
    Laptop Buying...How To Guide!
    http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=153497

Also, do you have access to Dell's EPP (Employer Purchase Program)? Open to Student w/their schools that participate, if your employer participates, and Local Govt. Participation.!! You can get a 7% (or more, depending on employer discount, etc), savings off the already instant rebated pricing at EPP, and they are supposed ot match / beat Dell home pricing! :)

You should also check Dell's Outlet for some good deals too (and if you sign up on the site for e-mail notifications..you can get some good % off coupon codes!

I always play around with multiple config's of what I want and save them to my cart. And, because I have the EPP savings, I configure at both Dell's home site, and EPP...so I know what type of savings I should be getting! :)

    Hope that helps!

    Cin ;) :)

No, problems..and really there are no silly questions! (were all here to help each other out on the forum w/q's, suggestions, etc) ;)

You can pay by the Dell preferred account (Dell's own CC), and usually you can get up to an additional 4% of savings if you pay that way. And, sometimes, there are *12 months interest free* depending on the Model you purchase!...And, of course..they take MC, Visa, Discover, etc. You can also pay by debit card/gift card, etc. :) You have several options for payment.

Yes, you would be very safe paying by CC, on the telephone with a Rep~! :)
    I do, understand your concern!

The Studio 15 is a nice lappy! You will like it!

If you have any other questions..post away!

    Cin ;) :)
