How do you determine the effectiveness and speed of the different processors?
What is the difference and effectiveness between the Celeron M processor and the Pentium M?
Are there better, lighter laptops that you can get the speed, good Hard Drive Storage and atleast 1gb memory from other than Dell's?
From not only a newbie, but also a computor dumbie!

ok
Pentium 4 = high power consumption, high output, high heat, super processors 32 bit technology, 512K(might be up to a 1 mb) cache.......$$$$$$
Celeron = high power consumtion, average performance (older games, word, DVDs, internet) high heat cheaper
Pentium 4 M = high power consumtion for a laptop, but better than P4 desktop, high heat for a laptop, super processors $$$$$
Pentium M (or 700 series) = there are two types the Banias(read early) and the dothans(newer) they are both low power consumtion, high output(when laptop is plugged in) and somewhat expensive......the banias usually have a 1mb cache, and the dothans have a 2mb cache.
Celeron M = average power consumtion, average power.....same as desktop version but less heat and power used. 512K cache
I think that is about right........im not certain on all of the CACHE ratings but I know the dothan and banias pretty well
