    Hello,

I am gonna reformat my laptop soon.

But i don't have a copy of windows xp pro (what it currently runs atm).

I have borrowed a windows xp pro cd from a mate but im not sure if i can use it with my product key after a reformat.

And second, my mates version is in english and the one im currently using is in dutch.

    Any idea's?

    Greets,

    Tim.

No, the key will not work. You have to have a disc that matches that key. They must be the same version of XP, same language, OEM vs Retail, etc. You also will run into license problems since most XP activation codes can only be used on one current running XP.

Call dell's tech support and request the XP disc. They'll send it to you free and normally within 2 business days.
