I called a Order Status Rep today and found out my computer is delayed for the dumbest reason....they are trying to find backordered copies of PowerDVD. She says it has something to do with 3D...I told her my computer is the non-3D option...she said once it is in production you can only stay the course or cancel. Ughh! my computer is delayed a week for software that I will never use. I have a 55-inch 3DTV, no way I'm trying to watch any movie on my comp.

does anyone else have any really dumb reasons why their computer was delayed now or in the past?

When, I first ordered my XPS 1530, I had ordered from a Dell Kiosk (when they existed). The Rep messed up my order so badly and said he could add the warranty when it was in production. Turned out, you couldn't add it in mid-production, (and then I found out he overcharged me & didn't make the adjustments)...so, after going "round and round" for nearly a day w/the Kiosk, and Dell directly..I ended up canceling and placing a new order online w/the EPP Rep, vs. having to deal with the morons at the Kiosk.

If the Rep gave you the option to cancel, and you are delayed...I wonder if canceling and placing new would get it there sooner or w/another delay. Sometimes, it works, sometimes not...
