    Hi everyone,

I ordered my laptop yesterday, and the Dell website says that my laptop is currently in the pre-production phase. Although, right below the pre-production icon, there is bold text saying: Production Date: 8/14/2007 8:41:29 AM. What does this mean? When I checked the site, it said it was the status as of 8/14/2007 9:41:29 AM Eastern Standard Time.

So what does the production date mean?

    Thanks

Your not getting it by when you would like it and, in fact, you will be lucky to get it on the estimated date as dell is so backlogged with orders of all types and their is such a part shortage.

Production stage (or date) simply means that your financing is confirmed and you are placed in the appropriate line.

This will not change until the system is built and they start boxing it.
