I am ready to buy a 1530 but am hung up on choosing the screen resolutions. 1440x900 LED, 1680x1050, or 1920x1200 high def. Help.

I don't think you'll ever regret getting a higher Res...I maxed out my screen and my friend who didn't is jealous every time he sees it.

how good are your eyes? LED provide more battery life. higher resolutions provide more lower resolutions when gaming should your game not play well at the highest res. the 19x12 imo should be reserved for a high end card like the 8800's or maybe even the 8700. the 14x9 should do well with the 8600. the 16x1050 screen, you take a bigger gamble on getting a poopoo screen.

I got a 1680x1050 display on my 15.4" and I wish I'd gotten a 1440x900. (this was coming from a 17" 1920x1200). I suggest the LED display, as I have one of my M1330 and it's amazing, the brightness is just great.

Your eyesight is the defining factor. I have 1680x1050 and I could not handle more. It's just right for me.

Lets just put it this way. Some people who are used to higher resolutions have switched to the LED even though it is a lower resolution and love it. Though everyone who has an LED backlit, don't ship theirs back for a higher resolution once they lay eyes on the amazingness of the screen.

I've had 15" machines with 1680x1050 (Voodoo m860) and several machines with 1440x900 (MBP currently). For me (an old man lol) 1440x900 is perfect. The highest resolution, 1900x1200 is not suitable for the vast majority of people - old or otherwise - IMHO. If you think you might prefer such a screen, I'd suggest holding off until or unless you're able to actually see and, at least briefly, use one at a local store, for instance. You could be the exception who would enjoy such extremely high resolution, but I'd guess probably not.

man, 19x12 should be reserved for 17 inch plus screens. but i guess some peeps need the resolution for various reasons so to those peeps... good luck to your eyes.
