I fear you're like me in the camp of most likely missing your ESD...
Since boxing usually takes a couple of days I don't see how it can be made... But since you're in Canada you could already be in Boxing... Since I'm in the US i can use the order status number and hear it tell me the dreaded BUILD stage message over and over and over... -
call or chat online with CS and find out what's exactly going on and what your situation is....see if they produced a service tag for it yet.....
-
Hmm, ok, I'll go chat with them now and ask if they have a service tag. Thanks.
-
good luck i got nothing out of them but a bunch of canned messages.
-
Well I talked to the rep and he told me that "It looks like they are putting all of the parts together, that that the software is going to be installed, right after we will be in the boxing/shipping stage". When I asked about a service tag he responded: "No you wont get a service tag until the final stage of production". I then asked about a faster shipping option and some kind of assurance for the delivery date: "Unfortunately in these times I can't give you a guarantee I dare not to. And there is no other shipping options available". I said I had heard of this online and he responded "For Canada no, that is incorrect no upgrades have been offered".
So what do you guys think? Wait until the 7th and then call again if (or when) it doesn't arrive? The fact that I'm still "in production" is hardly encouraging. -
I ordered the same System back on 8/02.... my ESD was 9/03
Called them today and was told parts will not arrive until the 17th....
So they gave me $100 credit....im also in T.O. btw -
I hope my doesn't take that long!!
Damn, need it for school too. -
with your processor?... I doubt it'll happen
-
Yeah, I heard about delays on the T7300, any news on that?
-
don't worry it could say in production until the last day then out of nowhere it will say shipped. just like mine and others i've seen.
just chat to customer service every once in a while to see if there are any expected delays or anything like that. -
I could be wrong, but I haven't seen anyone on these forums get their computer exactly on their EDD or any date that CSR's give out. Its always either much much earlier than the date or delayed to sh*t.
-
Ah well, thanks for the advice. On Monday I'll call Dell and see what's going on. That will give them two extra days.
Prospects for meeting ESD?
