    I finally made the move...
    Dell Inspiron 700m
    1.8 Ghz
    80 gb hard drive
    1024 Mb ram
    Cd-rw/dvd-rom
    Extended 8 cell battery! :D :D

    It says the estimated ship date is May 26 th :( Is that necessarily true?

    I know thatI'll enjoy it...and thanks for your help so much! I'll be sure to offer my help whenever needed...as you may have noticed, I've alre4ady had almost 70 posts!!!

    Grats on the 700m, I can't for mine either!

    Now, about the ship date.
    This is usually a fair indication of approximately when it will ship -- some people get them way later, some later, some on time, some early, and some way early. It really just depends on your luck.

    The last laptop I ordered before my 700m, a 9100, was ordered on 6/27/04 and shipped on 6/30/04!
    However, this was really quick and I wouldn't recommend expecting it before then.

    Just prepare yourself mentally for it shipping on the 26th (next week's Thursday) and you probably won't be dissapointed!

    LOL, I know how you feel. I just received mine last Fri, earlier than estimated by about 3 days. I'm happy with it.
