I was looking at Sony SZ, PortableOne MX and some Asuses, but then again, the lowest price I could get on those with a comparable config was 24-28 hundred, so I thought, what the hell, 700-1K bux is a lot of moneyAnd if I don't like this new toy I could probably sell it on eBay easily without loosing any money.
So I've got a question for you guys. The site says that the approx shipping date is July 19, two weeks to be exact. Does it really take them that long to ship it out? Thanks for your answers and opinions in advance![]()

Very nice, you and I got the same thing, excpt I got the extended battery and the A/V package. I ordered mine last tuesday (10 days ago), and im expecting it tomorrow. The shipping info from dell is said to be a conserveative estemate, and alot of peope get theirs before it says they're souposed to. But then there are those who get it right on scedule or later. So its not too accurate, but an estemate on what it may be.

i was thinking about getting an extended battery, but the way it's sticking in the back of the lappy is just plain ugly
and then again i don't have a problem with it since i have my laptop plugged in 99% of the time.
and i got the AV package toomaybe i'll add the cingular card down the road if their pricing becomes better.

I am hoping to have it before the 22nd of Jul, before I head off to another military school. -
congrats you are going to love it. -
I ordered mine last fri and got it today. I have owned IBM T series, a powerbook 12" G4 which I sold recently and I couldnt be more happy. Just installed doom 3 for giggles and ran it at "High" settings with great results. I didnt buy it for gaming but figured if I was gonna drop some bucks on it it may as well be able to handle anything I may want to do. The powerbook was cool for about 3 months then it became just a hassle

Your 1210 topped out Doom 3? I find that suprising, I didnt think the 7400 had that kind of power, especially from what ive read other people say about it.

I actuallIy got my M1210 last night after work. I had to go to UPS. I'm typing this laying in bed watching Underworld on my KDLV40XBR1 flat panel in HDTV...
I've major issues trying to get my wireless up and running though. Bought a Net Gear router and after talking to "Jack" in India a few times it still won't work right. In fact, it won't work at all.
I am surfing wirelessly off of one of my neighbors down the street!!!!!!!!
HAHA.... i'm going to return this dog router and buy a Linksey i think.. I hear the're easier to work with.
This is a pretty neat little notebook though. There is definately major flex on the lower right side of the keyboard. The rest of the keyboard is fine. Then again, it's my first notebook. I should get my wireless up over the weekend hopefully! -
Underworld on TNT? Im watching the same thing as I type now.

Yeah... Still on one of my neighbors router too, heh...
Pulled the plug: m1210 is in the making
