    Folks ..

    Few mins back I ordered my first Dell Notebook, a Dell Inspiron 640m with following specs.

    Core Duo T2250
    2 GB RAM
    120 GB HDD
    14.1" TrueLife LCD
    Bluetooth
    6 Cell and 9 Cell Battery
    Windows Vista Home Basic
    2nd Business Day Delivery

    for $ 1048 (including Tax and Shipping)

    Order is in Acknowledged State yet. I guess I will get an order no. when it comes to confirmed state. Am I Correct ??

    updates :- payment approved, in production now ..

    I chose for 2nd Business Day Shipping but still it is showing me Estimated Ship Date as March 19...
    I am stumped on this .. :confused:

    thats probably the 2-day shipping.

    So when they DO ship on that date, it will take 2 days to get to you.
    (*The time between now and that shipping date is just the time for the assembling of your notebook)

    However, I just recently purchased a notebook from dell and they said the "estimated shipping date" was the 15th and they shipped it almost a week earlier than that. (it should be here by the end of the week :) )

    Dell seems to be way off on its shipping date estimates right now. I ordered mine on the 4th and got a delivery estimate of the 22nd with regular shipping (to Canada). Purolator received it first thing on the 9th and it is on the truck right now headed to my house - 9 days ahead of schedule.

    Of course because it is so early I have no one at home to receive the package :-(

    yeah .. I think Dell people keep some time buffer while giving estimated delivery date assuming something might go wrong (which doesn't in most of the cases) .. I have a friend in CT who got his laptop delivered to him in three working days despite choosing normal delivery method (3-5 days shipping)...
