Are all packages required signature? I won't be here today and I'm supposed to get a package today, but the nearest DHL center is 2 hours away heh so I'm not in the mood for driving 2 hours to get it. Hopefully they just drop the packages off by the door or in the garage!
Also, what does "With delivery courier. " mean on DHL?
-
Nope they all don't . Do they have your sig on file ?
-
They have left packages here, when no one was avaliable to sign.
-
With delivery courier means that it's at the local delivery center.
Leave a note on the door to authorize them to leave the box if you want it that bad. Just bear in mind that once they leave it for you, it's no longer their responsibility. -
Do you have a trusted neighbor to accept the package?
-
How is yours shipped already
-
Mine just arrived this morning at 9am. I had to sign for my package...
I believe DHL does try to deliver it again the next day though, so if worse comes to worse, try to be home tomorrow! -
hmm I was told mine would be shipping july 31.. now they go and ship on 15th, with delivery between 18th-20thj.. and I'm away 18th-20th..
they better not leave it on the doorstep, if i'm away for 3 days.. , neighbors away also . grr
and of course there's no carrier info yet on the account page.
I think i need to leave a note for them to deliver it on monday 23.. will they do that? -
I would call them and explain the situation... 1-800-CALL-DHL -
they dropped off microsoft streets and tirps to me today and i didnt have to sign.
-
Signatures aren't required for things like software, but systems they do require signatures. Now in some of the more rural areas couriers are lazier and just drop them off. One, they don't want to go back. Two, the more rural the area the least likely the chance for someone to take it. But regardless of where you live, or what your courier is...there's a bigger chance that they will require a signature, because that's what the service is and the couriers are supposed to follow the service ordered.
-
Yeah they will require a signature. I called them today because mine is supposed to come today sometime and I asked them if they could give me an estimated time of arrival, and they said between noon and 5. She made sure to point out that some one has to be here to sign for it though or they won't leave it and will try to deliver again the following day.

Heres a story followed by a horror story for you guys who hate DHL:
A. It was my laptop bag, not my Vostro.
B. I got the package, my father accepted it (I live in rural New Hampshire, in the boonies, so no one steals here), except the package arived ripped open, and with damage as if someone saw "Dell" on the box, and thought they'd get themselves a free laptop but failed when they saw it was a bag. It was brutal. Very bad, I'll take pictures of it in a bit, so the DHL man told my father to call ifa nything is missing; nothing is, besides a packing list. The bag is in mint condition but there's no recipt or anything, so I'm wondering if this ******* bandit stole my receipt and is going to try and do somehting bad...do Dell's receipts ever have credit card numbers on them? Should I call up DHL and complaign?
/sigh. -
Oh man... if that showed up on my porch, I would refuse to accept the package and send it right back.
I don't think the receipt has anything important other than your name/address/amt ordered. Payment information shouldn't be on there cause they're smart like that ... I think. -
has everybody who received their orders get their package okay? im reading all these horror stories about dhl online...stuff sent to south carolina that end up in asia, stuff being chucked over fences or at your door, packages being delivered to someone down the street, and lies that they tell about "failed delivery" when they never even show up in your neighborhood

ARGH!!!! NOOOOO!!!!!
i just got home from work at noon and found a sticker on my door. it said they tried to drop off the package at 10:14am. NOOO!!!! so i called up DHL and they said they would try to get the driver to come back around to deliver it....

DHL is a pain in the rear end, no question about that.
-
i thought i heard the dhl truck but it was just a school bus =(
-
I live next to a UPS facility (not a UPS Store but a real deal facility), so I wish Dell used them, I can usually get a better deal through them :/.
-
woot my 1420 just came. some fat old guy in nikes delivered my package =) we even had a short conversation about the weather. thank goodness i didn't get a bad experience! time to finish up my review =)
-
and FYI, with DHL, you cannot leave a note saying to leave the package. they have this nice little explanation on the ticket you get if you arent home :/
-
After getting tracking number then going to DHL web page i notice it states signature required.
-
-
I'm goingto complaign to dell about the package being damaged and open, hopefully I get free credit or like, free next day shipping!
