I'm debating between an 8600 and a compaq x1000. I've seen the screen for the compaq x1000 wxga wva and its very bright, sharp and has a good viewing angle. My problem is I don't know anyone with an 8600 to check out their screen to see if its also sharp. I've only seen a dell 1150 xga screen and it was very grainy and not impressive at all. Should I expect the 8600 wxga to look the same as the 1150 xga or is their a difference?

    I cant compare the screens,

but I have the i8600 with WUXGA screen..

I LOOOVVEEE the screen.. moreso I love the resolution.. I've had no problems with it whatsoever.... 1920x1200 is incredible, I've always been a CRT man.. but I think the image ot this LCD is awesome! use it for gaming and everything.... very pleased with it.

I have an 8600 with an sxga screen, and it is very bright. The only times that I find myself squinting are when I am in direct sunlight. The viewing angles are great too, I see no distortion or inversion moving to the left or right, and it has to be very angled to distort vertically.
