I have a few questions 9400 that I just placed an order for. This is my first time purchasing a laptop ever.

So I just went through the trouble of haggling the price of a laptop from dell for around 2 hours and got the following:

    Intel® Core™ 2 Duo T7200 (2.00GHz, 4MB L2 Cache, 667 MHz FSB)
17 inch UltraSharp™ Wide Screen UXGA Display with TrueLife™
2GB Shared Dual Channel DDR2 SDRAM at 533MHz
    160GB SATA Hard Drive
    256MB NVIDIA® GeForce™ Go 7900 GS
    Dell Draft N Internal Wireless
Dell Wireless 355 Bluetooth Internal (2.0 + Enhanced Data Rate)
Dell Bluetooth Keyboard and Optical Mouse
    crappiest warranty
    Dell Nylon Deluxe Carrying Case
and a "SND BLSTR AUDIGY ADVCD AUDIO,XPS M1710"

For $1,999 CDN before taxes, (was this a good price?)

How come it doesn't list the RPM of the 160 GB SATA HD? The only other HD option was a 4200RPM 200GB HD (When I tried to configure online using coupon) so I hope this 160GB is at least 5400 RPM.

Now when I was talking with the sales rep, I had a hard time understanding them so I'm not sure what kind of audio is included. I asked for the (I believe) the Integrated Sound Blaster® Audigy™ HD Software Edition but I have the above SND BLSTR AUDIGY ADVCD AUDIO, XPS M1710. I read that it is just software that is supposed to make your audio 'sound' better but my question is: is that "SND BLSTR AUDIGY ADVCD AUDIO,XPS M1710" that software? Or is it an actual sound card? I find it hard to believe because I can't find any options to actually choose a sound card instead of integrated.

Onward to my next question, warranty. I plan to bring this laptop with me as a desktop replacement but... (I'm buying this laptop in Canada because I live here but I'm going to be living in Japan for about a year in a month or so) So I asked the online sale staff which warranty covers me internationally because I basically will be out of Canada the whole time I am using the laptop. They told me the 3 or 4 year in-home service or something would cover me internationally. So I thought great! But when I was talking with the sales staff over the phone, they told me the international warranty only provides me technical support, not parts replacement, etc. Is this true? Mainly my question is: Does Dell's warranty (I'm not sure which one either, but I believe the cheap one I have doesn't) protect me while I'm out of the country (ie parts replacement not just some technical support) because if anything goes wrong, I want to be able to go to Dell Japan or something to fix it instead of mailing it back to Canada.

Thanks for reading this long post!

To clarify what my question really is asking: (Or what I really am interested in knowing right now)

What does Dell's International Warranty provide me? (The one that comes with 3-4 years inhome/onsite service warranty)

Does it ONLY provide me technical support internationally and if there's a problem, I still need to mail/bring it back to the country I bought it from? (Making it kind of useless since I plan to stay outside of Canada for a long period of time)

or... does it provide services too, ie parts replacements, or even laptop replacement while I am out of the country I purchased it from?

    --Or even more simple--
If my laptop has a problem, needs fixing, parts/laptop replacing, etc, can I get it fixed in a foreign country or do will I need to bring it back to the country I bought it from?
