I noticed yesterday that Dell is having a deal on their XPS M1330 with an instant savings of $799. I've been considering buying one for a while, and this seems like a really good deal. The deal supposedly ends Monday however, and I'm not sure if I really want to buy one that quickly. Can someone tell me whether or not having an instant savings of $799 is rare enough that I should jump on it now. If chances are good they'll have a similar sale within the next couple months then I'll wait, but if this is as good a deal as it seems then I may just go ahead and get it now.
Thanks in advance to anyone who can help me out.

as far as my experience goes i havent seen deductions like $799 on dell.......i think u shud go for it......however beware of the hidden costs......all the best

They've had that deal out since mid Dec. and said they where going to end long ago didn't. And every week they lower the specs on it. So it's really not the best deal they've had on it. Although when combined with that 10% off coupon they had a few days ago it was pretty nice. Anyway I say wait they'll another in the next few months.

I'd say go for it. Dell rarely has these kinds of deals.

Since I've looked in mid November, they have had it on and off about
4 times. -
Well I guess my next question is whether anything new or better is going to be coming out in the next month or two that will rival the m1330.
-
Hmm the M1330 itself will get the new Penryn processors this month. These discounts will likely be lower when Penryn is available but probably will come back a week or two later. The Latitude E series is on the horizon as well but may not be released for a few months.

Also the $799 is not available in crimson red which imho is the best M1330 color...

I actually spoke to a senior level rep about these discounts, release of Penryn, and color. Here is the "dirt":
Penryn expected release on m1330 is this upcoming Thursday. He said that the 9300 would be available, and possibly the 9500 as well. No pricing info.
Crimson Red can be requested through phone order if the SKU for it as well as the LCD casing is known. The down side is apparently there is a 60-70 day lead time for crimson red casings on any system that is not bundled with Product Red. -
Ha that's interesting.. It was just the 9300 released in Australia as well.. hmm .. I'd really like to get my hands on a 8100 and save on battery life...
