    Question about Dell discounts

    I just bought an XPS 13 and got the $150 gift card deal. I was told I could not mix any other promotions with this (such as an EPP discount or 5% coupon code) or mix any coupon codes with an EPP discount; however, I just saw a poster say he was able to get all three of these. Do you guys think I should call Dell? Aren't they going to tell me to blow off? Is this an executive office problem?

    Dell EPP is supposed to match and beat all Dell Home pricing. And, you are supposed to get your applicable EPP discount regardless. Mine is 7% I get that alongside whatever other discount my Rep is matching.

    I think it depends on what Rep you get and how much they want the sale..and what deal they can give you. You can always try another rep, depends on how bad you want the deal. I think you should call back and try. I would :D

    Judging from the PM I received, I believe that I am the mysterious "other poster" he referred to.

    Cin pretty much nailed it. I got lucky, and the second rep I tried had done the deal before my first rep even replied to the email I sent him asking if it could be done (he said no, btw. I was like "I think it can, since it just was, but thanks anyway"...)

    Just waiting on my GC now...irritated that the 9 cell battery jumped up 100 bucks in price, as it was my original plan for the card...W/E, Dell...

    Yup..It really depends on who you get. Luckily, I stick with the same Rep, and he's pretty cool.

    Oh yeah, waiting on the GC is harder, cuz you want to use it on purchases spec. when you see good deals. When you receive, and if it's soon..there is a 30% off coupon that is applicable to the batteries..if you want to use it! ;)

    So should I call dell home since I processed the sale with them or call EPP?

    So after getting nothing from any of the reps I called at Dell Home. I e-mailed the consumer_advocate department. She called me back today. She was insanely nice and said she would look into what she could do for me. She couldn't guarantee both 7% + 5% discounts but beyond trying, she said she would get my computer out of production and shipped ASAP.

    No but I got her name and number/extension. Unfortunately, I ordered on 3/23 and the status on the dell status line is still "Building" :-(

    Call her back and get the Case Number. And, get her email address.
    The case number is important!
