If i buy a Vostro 1400 with a 3 year warranty, will Dell replace my 9 cell battery every year if i say that it is very wobbly? As its a known fact that laptop batteries lose the amount of charge they hold every year or so.

if you say your battery died, just so you know, they will want proof. so don't say something and not be able to ship it to them

They will want to connect to your laptop remotely, and they will check charge and charging levels, as well as the date code and SN# of the battery. Ive only seen them do this once, but they do check, and if there is a legitimate problem, and the battery is still under warranty, they will replace it.

But they do protect themselves from people who just lie to get free stuff.

I understand that they will check but its more a hardware issue as the Vostro's 1400 battery is losse for many users, so i was wondering will they replace it every time i want (if its loose) during the 3 year warranty?

what if the user has complete care?
will dell replace it yearly or does the battery just need to be dropped yearly? haha

Wow...what a difference from XPS Support!!! I called them not a month ago and simply said I didnt believe I was getting the expectancy out of it that I should. I was getting just under 3 hours while i had read of another getting 5 plus.

They said " No problem Mr XXX, we'll have another to you tomorrow first thing"

It arrived at 3:20 next day by Purolator.

Dell is already granting you a favor by offering a 1 year warranty on the batteries, because it's considered a consumable by the industry as a whole.

As for XPS support, that's for XPS products they get a different support lines...

Batteries are always 1 year(different entity), no matter what warranty. As mentioned, it's a consumable object.

What was the call all about? was it a complete care issue regarding the battery or what? because if ever the battery is damaged or the problem is about a complete care problem and the battery is affected then Dell can cover it but for any other issue, I dont think Dell will do it because batteries only have a year of warranty.
