So my GPU Core Temp readings on idle is about 59-60 which is normal after reading a few other threads (Please correct if I am wrong.) Another tidbit of info I got was that the max GPU temps is about 95 and then it will shut down. I'm about to try some gaming temps and I couldn't find a "normal range" for core temperatures.

Also, will different drivers change the core GPU temperature or will it only change gaming GPU temps?

I'm playing Gears of War and I'll be testing out the GPU temps for that. I'll post them if needed.

I have the Inspiron 1520 with the 8600 and it is around 53 idling for me. 59 doesn't seem out of anything safe. The most I had my 8600 to was 70. Right now I'm running a slight overclock and in games I don't go above 66 - this is on Call of Duty 4 and Rainbow Six Vegas. I don't see it getting up to 90 unless you have cooling problems.
