Hey all, just wondering if anyone might have an answer to this question. Assuming Dell will come out with a GPU other than integrated for the i6400/E1505 (such as the x1300 or x1400), does anyone know if it would be compatiable with the i6000? any info would help. Thanks!

Are you looking to install an x1300 or an x1400 yourself? If so i do not advise it. But if Dell puts out any GPU that isn't intergrated it will be compatible or they wouldn't release it.

I don't it would be ok, because bios would reject the card. It only knows the x300

I would not mind installing the card myself, but I know the only way it would work is if Dell wants it too. Ah well... and no, i do not know when Dell plans to release a card for the i6400/e1505...i would imagine soon, but who knows....thanks for the relpies

nobody really knows because everything out there is just rumor.

about the upgrade on the 6000, you can only upgrade to cards that are specifically offered for the 6000. It doesn't matter if it is the exact same system (minus the dual core) as the E1505, because you have to have BIOS support.

The only BIOS upgrades you will be able to do will involve upgrading to a newer i6000 BIOS. The only way you will be able to pull off upgrading your card, is if someone could crack the i6400 BIOS to get it running on your computer. I don't see that happening, since the two computers are VERY different when it comes down to it (different motherboards, processors, ect.). So in theory it COULD be done, but in reality I'd say give up on that dream

It is possible. There was a cracked bios on the 9300 so that the 7800 card could be supported. I wouldn't recommend going this route if you care about your warranty though because i'm pretty sure that upgrading to an unsupported card and using a hacked BIOS would void your warranty.
