Hey guys,
I'm new to the forum. I'm in college right now and am looking to buy a M1330 as I have an I6000 and this thing is just way too heavy to travel around, plus I feel it's time to change. I had a few questions about hardware...any input would be appreciated! Most of the time I use my comp for basic web, email, chat, DVD playing, etc. Occasionally, if I find time, I'll play WoW for like a little bit but that's definitely the most "intensive" gaming I do.
1) Would a processor like T5750 handle everything I need?
2) How much RAM do I need? RAM is cheap I guess and I can just install it myself. Is there that noticeable of a difference between 2gb and 4?
3) Is the 8400m GS graphics card going to be reflected that much more, say in watching a movie than the integrated one?
Any help would be much appreciated!
Thanks again.

Well, playing wow, I would say get the 8400m GS.
T5750 is based on older technology. a T8300 is going to run a little cooler, and be upgradeable in the future. But for your needs at the moment the T5750 will be ok.
Depending on your usage will play into getting 4GB of ram. Also note that a 32bit system is limited to 3GB of ram. If money is an issue, get 1GB, then order more as you feel needed on ebay.
Overall you're going to see more performance out of the Dedicated than you are the intergrated Intel, especially playing WoW with 2gb of ram. -
Since I rarely play WoW, maybe a week or two in a year and I'm not much of an enthusiast, which would increase my system overall more? More RAM or a GPU? An upgrade to 4gb of RAM and a GPU cost the same, and I feel I really want to upgrade only one of the two.
Would a dedicated GPU increase say...DVD quality dramatically?
Also, to get 64-bit, T5750 should support it and I would just need to get 64-bit compatible Vista right? -
DVD Quality no. Future 1080p? Yes. Speaking of the GPU. I don't tell anyone to go intergrated because, its just no good.
Go for the 8400m, buy the ram later and cheaper from ebay or newegg. -
Get the 8400, stay away from Integrated.
Question about Hardware Components - Any help would be appreciated
