My bro uses this software on his I9300 but he told me i can't install it on my new e1705 because it says somewhere that it doesn't support duel core or something. So my question to all the e1705 users, what do you use, and is I8kfangui really needed? I know my bro installed it on his I9300 because the BIOS controls the fan and it doesn't cool it down properly or something.

The new version supports dual core and thus the e1705. Whether or not you need to use it depends on what you are using your computer for. I think it's cool simply because it allows you greater control over the fans. Just google I8KfanGUI and download the new version.

I use it to monitor my temps, so I can see what normal is. I only have an E1505 with X1400, so, heat is not a problem and I don't use it for fan control at all.

What it seems like you can do is set temps for the fans to kick on at certain points.

Also, as I mention in another thread. I prop the rear of my laptop up on a bicycle reflector. Ghetto, but it raises the rear up 1/4" which lets some air get under the laptop.

I also used fanGUI on my e1505 with the x1400. Worked like a charm.

Yeah, my E1505 won't do it.

    Do we have 2 fans?

I8kfan and I9kfan are different programs, I8kfan runs just fine on your system

the E1505 only has one fan
