I noticed when i turn on my wireless card (Intel pro/wireless 3945) for my e1705- it also turns on my bluetooth (dell wireless 355 bluetooth module). Is it possible to only enable one at a time?

There is an option in the BIOS that lets you select if the wifi on/off also controls the bluetooth card.

It's default is YES, meaning that the FN-F3 key combo will turn both wifi and BT on or off...

If you set that to NO, you'll have to use quickset or the bluetooth control in the taskbar to activate or deactivate the bluetooth module.

Quick note- you can always turn one on or off independently by using the respective control panel in XP. But when you use the key-combo it will change both (depending on the BIOS setting).

FN-F3 is for WiFi and BT is done via the BT icon in the systray (enabel BT radio) so that works fine for me.

Could you give me some steps on how to change it in the BIOS. I rarely want to go into BIOS because if you dont know what u are doing, you can have a lot of undesirable effects.

You can also just disable your BT in the device manager.

I can't remember the exact place it is at in the BIOS, but if you reboot the laptop, press F2, that should load the BIOS. You should see an area called wireless devices and it would most likely be in there.
