I ordered a Dell 1520 and still waiting for its arrival, but I have some questions. I am going to live in a dorm for university on Sept. 1st. The university has noticed me that there isn't wireless connection inside the dorms but there will be a cable modem waiting for us, so we need to bring an ethernet wire in order to connect. Does Dell provide you with that wire? Or do I need to buy it somewhere else?

Can anyone also tell me what should be included in the package with the laptop.
    Thanks for help.

You need to get your own Ethernet Cable.

Aren't ethernet cables rather common things - that is, pretty much everywhere sells them

Yeah, but Safeway or Albertson's don't have them. :)You should be able to get them at any technology place.

Yep you can even ask some lab incharge person in one of your computer labs to give you a small 2m ethernet cable which should more than suffice... :)
