Hi everybody. Looking to buy an XPSM1530. Obviously cant see it before I buy it but for those that own one already, is the screen a "glossy/reflective" one?

    thanks

I think none of the XPS models offer anti-glare anyway? Correct me if I'm wrong...

When I called to order mine, I was surprised when the CS rep asked me if I'd rather have the matte screen... so maybe you can request it if you place your order over the phone.

I just got mine and it's sorta glossy. Not as glossy as the HP screens and it doesn't reflect as much.

I doubt it. If you said "yes, I want matte" either she will say "oh, we don't have that, I thought we did" or she will offer you a different model notebook that has it.

I was just reading the manual and it does mention anti-glare. Is this what's causing the "grainy" look? The screen is great except that under bright light the screen does have a texure of grain. Everything is working fine so far. The keys are full sized and soft touch which I like. The BluRay drive when loaded is kind of noisy but it's a slot type player..wished it was as quiet as the PS3 or car cd player. So far I'm happy with the m1530.
