I recently purchased a used 600m. This is the first laptop that I bought which had a Centrino processor. The specs of the cpu is that it operates on 1.4 GHz, when I go to SYSTEM INFORMATION on windows, some times it says, 593 MHZ on the CPU speed. And when i looked at the BIOS, it said the CPU speed as "1.4 GHZ/600 MHZ". What is the megahertz deal? Does it have something to do with the centrino, where it operates at two different speeds to save battery life? Someone please educate this noob.

No, the best thing to do would be to respond to yourself and explain what you found out ... people will read and be informed but know not to respond!
