Hi all ... I'm a new member and would like some advice please.

I have a Dell Inspiron 6400 which I am in the middle of formatting after having picked up a particularly nasty virus which messed lots of things up.

When I purchased my laptop it did not come with a resource/drivers cd and so I am little worried how I am going to be able to install drivers to get the laptop back in full working order.

I am installing Windows XP Pro. I will need to have the drivers for the sound, graphics, etc etc. Please can someone advise me on what I need to do ?

    Any help appreciated.

Thanks for your help Recoil. Is there an easy way to find out what the type of components I need drivers for ? In other words how do I find out the name of the sound card/graphics card etc ?

    Thanks.

well you could try going to Start>All Programs>Accessories>System Tools>System Information

Have a look around in there to find all the necessary parts... for example expand "components" which is on the left, then look at display and sound etc.

    Hope that helps
