Do either of these models come with a TrueLife 1440x900 screen? I've seen it mentioned but there's nothing about it on Dell's site.

TrueLife- Yes that's the "Glossy display"
1440x900 Resolution depends on your Graphics Card. With a Dedicated Video Card you can get higher resolutions. -
The only options I see are:
17 inch Wide Screen XGA+ Display
17 inch UltraSharp Wide Screen UXGA Display with TrueLife
The first one is 1440x900 and the second one is 1920x1200. There's no mention of a XGA+ with TrueLife display. -
The current inspiron line is on the verge of getting replaced by the newer Santa-Rosa line. Therefore you may see some options (which they used to have) missing in current notebooks. Maybe DELL is trying to clear out their inventory, so whatever they don’t have, they remove from the options.
