just got off the phone and feeling really good about my purchase. i wanted to know for the future however, since i will be reformatting the computer the day i get it, if the hard drive is easily upgradeable? i'd like a 7200, and i have one in my inspiron 700m, but don't know if they are compatible.

i believe that the 700m uses a Parallel ATA (ATA-6 or PATA as some call it), but the M1210 uses Serial ATA (SATA or *i think* ATA-7)

regardless though, they are two different interfaces and it will not be compatible. if anyone else can confirm or deny this feel free to chime in.

You need to post about getting your new laptop in the 'Post about your new Dell' sticky. Seeing how you asked a question, I was afraid you wouldn't get as many responses if I simply merged this thread with the sticky so I renamed it.
