I am pretty much set on buying the xps m1530 but i am unsure about which screen resolution I should get. I am going to configure it with the blu-ray drive so i want my hd movies to look good, but i am also going to be doing some gaming (total war series, COD4, UT3). I would like to know which screen would be best for those two. Also, when i try to configure it with a student discount it doesnt give me the screen options. Can i make the purchase over the phone and be able to order the higher resolutions with my discount? Thanks in advance.

place the order and then call them to upgrade the screen.

Do you have an external monitor to view the movies with the blu ray drive? If so, then get the 1280x800. If not, then go with the higher resolution.
