I have an I8000 that I want to upgrade and give to my mom (since I just ordered a Lat d610 for myself), and I found a guy locally who has a 256 MB SODIMM that he says is for I5000--I checked the memory specs on the Dell website and they sound the same (144 pin, PC100, 3.3v, non-ECC, CL=2), but crucial and kingston show different part numbers for 5000 and 8000 memory. Do you think this RAM will work in the 8000?

specs are what matter, not part numbers
