First time posting here, hopefully this is the correct sub forum xD

Recently bought this new laptop to replace my 8 yr old acer. Couldn't be happier as I can play newer games now without be bound to my desktop.

With reguards to the power button, there is no light to indicate that the machine is on and I can't seem to find any notification light indicating that the machine is in sleep mode. Is this by design and if so is it due to cutting coners or is that some practical reason for such a design.

Thank you in advance for any and all replies.

According to the manual, it seems that there is only one led available in dell inspiron 5559 which is located on the front side near left palm rest.
More info that i got from http://downloads.dell.com/manuals/a...iron-15-5559-laptop_reference guide_en-us.pdf

Power adapter is connected and the battery has more than 5% charge.
    -- Amber
Computer is running on battery and the battery has less than 5% charge.
    -- Off
    • Power adapter is connected and the battery is fully charged.
    • Computer is running on battery and the battery has more than 5% charge.
    • Computer is in sleep state, hibernation, or turned off.

    Hope that will help.
