I'm just wondering if that graphics card(comes with some inspirons and the m1330) Would be good enough to play a game like counter strike? My desktop has a Nvidia 6600 and can play Counter Strike easily...Is this card equal to the 6600? I just realized i can get an inspiron a lot cheaper than a m1530.

the 8400GS is equivalent to the 6600 when it comes to performance so it can easily run cs:s maxed out.
-
It should pretty easily, Counter Strike is a couple of years old already. I play Counter Strike: Source on my laptop, and I don't evenhave a dedicated graphics card. It runs perfectly too. If you decide to play today's games, and games in the future, don't expect to be able to play them on the best settings, or even at all.

nice, I have a 360, and i really don't think i'll be gaming much, except for CS, and other older source games(Half Life 2), This is good to know, i don't see the point in dishing out extra cash to get a 1530, when i might not use it fully

I played CSS maxed out on an NVS 140M (equivalent to the 8400GS) very smootly. It's such an old game that even low end cards will play it just fine.
-
It will play counterstrike but it is not equivalent to the 6600 series. I would look at THIS for performance questions.
-
i can play counter strike on a $400 laptop

Some of the results shown on that link for 3dmark06 aren't very accurate the 8400GS easily gets 1500+ which does indeed make it equal to or slighty faster than the desktop 6600GT.
-
Most people do not say equivalents to desktop machines...however, if you want to say that...then yes it is

Wow. There is a gaming forum.
**The Official "Can My Notebook Run It?" Thread**
Venture a post there. -
That may be so but, as you can see, the original poster was asking for a comparison to the 6600GT desktop card.
