Well I've been delaying doing this since this is my only computer currently, but since i have a new m1530 on order im about to put in a warranty claim on my 700m

Basically the issues im having with it are. The screen flickers all the time, the notorious mic input issue, the DVD drive tries to read stuff all the time if you move the computer in any direction, and every so often the computer just spontaneously turns off. sometimes i have to pull the battery and power, then replace them, to get it to turn back on. Among several other minor issues.

I have aprox 40 days left in my warranty (bought in june 05)

What is likely to be done? do they still have replacement motherboards in stock for these comptuers? Is there a chance they'll just replace it with a newer model? i really like the size and weight of this computer for portability. (almost wish i woulda just bought a m1350 instead of the 1530 right now)

In the US and EU at least, companies are obliged to comply with the warranty terms. If they cannot replace the parts, they must provide you with a new laptop.

    I'm sure they do...

When I had my i5160 they were replacing its parts well into the 3rd year of its life. It went off sale like 3 months after I purchased it.
