I already know that I will be buying a dell e1705. I've been shopping for months and sort of noticed that dell sort of of...plays with there prices. They raise them for like 2 weeks to catch lazy shoppers and then lower them to make people think its a deal. Well, I would like to order my laptop ASAP so that I'm sure I get it before my vacation. But I'm unsure if dell is playing one of there price games or not...they just seem a bit high at the moment. Its not the first time they have raised them and left there prices there for months...but idk. I can only wait another week to order it, does anyone think I should wait and see if they bring them down or just go for it? If they drop them like 2 days after I order it do you think they might make up the difference? Eh, maybe I'm just unsure of myself after the time I bought an averatec on clearence at circuit city and I came back a week later to get a bag for it and the price had dropped 200 bucks.

Moving to Dell. If you order a laptop and the same configuration is cheaper after (I think) 3 days then you can call and get a price adjustment, or just cancel the original order and get the price adjustment.
It's not a conspiracy against you, prices vary based on their marketing and also depending on components they have available. -
Muahahahah! There all out to get me! Ha, excuse my moment of "fun". Alright, thanks for the info though, maybe I'll wait until friday or so to make the order, that way if they change the price over the weekend (which they have made a habit out of) I'll have time. Thanks for the speedy response.

Does anyone know if they have a good Canada Day sale as well?

the best time to buy is when you find a configuation with the features you want at a price you can afford, the prices change all the time, first rule of thumb is there will always be a better deal, and you could spend an eternity waiting for the perfect deal, or snatch up what you want when you find it at a price that seems fair to you, and if it drops by a substantial amount shortly after ordering, call them and see what you can work out, so far dell support has been really good to me, I got mine through dell outlet, as is configuration, and it only shipped with the system restore discs, I called and asked if I could purchase a copy of xp media center so I could do a clean install, and they sent me one free of charge next day air, good luck, and remember that the less time you spend worrying about saving a few bucks, means more time enjoying your new machine
