So i've decided after many hours of research that I'll be getting a Studio 15 as my new laptop. Everything looks good and all except the fact that it only allows me to purchase it with the Dell wireless cards. Now i've heard they give more trouble than they are worth and I was wondering if it is possible to switch/replace with the Intel wireless-N ones. I'm not too computer savvy so is there possibly a tutorial somewhere that would show me how and where does one buy a wireless card for laptops cause for some reason I can't find any.

Greatly thankful and appreciate any help!!

What's wrong with the Dell cards? Between myself and friends, I know a half dozen people who have them on Inspirons & XPS's with no problems whatsoever. Regardless, I am also curious if you are able to swap these out.

I mean, I don't have any grudges on Dell wireless cards but from some research I have found that they generally get less range/speed than Intel's. I don't have any first-hand experience so I can't tell you that for sure.

If you hold off for about a month in ordering the Studio, Dell will be giving an option for the Intel WiFi N Card that you are looking for + the option of getting the Montevina platform. =)

Tons of countless days over the web, in Dell chat sessions, and web forums. I pieced it all together and I am 200% positive that both options will be available by mid-August a.k.a 1-month. :D :D

Cool deal. Computers are like chasing a golden carrot - as soon as you grab it, something bigger, better, and shinier sprouts up the next day.

As an aside, I do wonder how Montevina will affect pricing? Surely they won't be able to keep the current prices flat with the release of a new platform.

Hmm, if what your telling me is the truth then I guess i'll just have to be more patient :( College starts mid-August for me so it's gunna be a bummer not having it with me when I start but oh well. On average how long does it take for a custom built computer to arrive to a customer?
