    Question bout screen resolution on Studio 1558

    Hi I got a Dell Studio 1558 a few days back with a full hd screen. I tried changing the resolution to a lower one n it shifted down to a lower resolution but it din cover the entire screen! it had black bars on the side! any idea how i could resolve that!?!

    You probably set it to a resolution which is not of the 16:9 aspect ratio family. Something like 1024x768 or 1280x1024 is a 4:3 aspect ration and usually will give you the black bars on the side, not stretch the picture.

    I'm uncertain if there is an option for stretching the screen but check in the ATI control panel (if you got the ATI card) or the Intel control panel (if using the integrated graphics option). There may be a setting in there for stretching the screen.

    u were right! i digged out an option the the ati catalyst that wouls stretch it to full screen! thank you!
