    Hi everyone,

I just joined but i did come here every day since i was planning to buy a laptop for myself in the summer.

I heard different opinions about leaving the battery in the laptop when having the laptop on the electrical net for long times.

Does this affect the health of the battery that im using?
    Or is this just bullcrap...

    Inform me please. ;)

I heard the best thing for lithium ion batteries is to remove them from the computer and have them charged about 40% keep them in a cool place. I personally dont think it would be bad to store them in the laptop as long as its not for too long.

If your asking whether a battery is safe to be left on charge, even when it is full, then the answer is yes. It is okay to do so. The circuit in the computer will stop charging, and should take its power from the AC adapter.

If you use your notebook alot, and its mainly sitting there on AC, then it is best to remove the battery, with a 40 % charge, and then store it. This way, the wear on the battery after a year, will ony be about 4 %, provided it is stored in temperatures of 25 C or less. Hope this helps.
