Can you tell which phase your notebook is in, while its in the "In Production" ?

I don't know if it's the same for Canada, but call 1-800-433-9014, and then type in your order number when they prompt you.

Automated order status doesn't work for Canada - although I did try just for fun, my order# did work, and I was told that my notebook was shipped from the factory sometime in January 1999
Call support at 800-847-4096 press 1-2-1, and talk to a CSR. Alternatively, try Online Chat from the CS homepage - if you're lucky, you'll get someone with access to the right tools that can track your order fairly accurately. -

In Canada, call 18008474096 1-2-1 for updates.
The status update page is only updated daily around 9am. The "My orders" page of Dell is instant if you log in. -
Cool thanks. If i call and do the update thing is it automated? Or do I talk to someone.

Just chatted with a Dell rep... (Online Chat) And she was of very little help. She couldn't answer any of my questions. All I got was "Sorry I don't have access to such information".

I've heard this, and I guess it depends on the rep. I was expecting that too, but the lady I chatted with yesterday seemed on top of things and explained with very specific dates the status of my order, and that as of yesterday the current delay was with the LED LCD.

They use a program called DOMS (Dell Order Management System) but many do not either know how to use it or have access. You will have to shop for a Rep who does. This system will tell where you computer is, what it is waiting for as well as any other related info. This is where they also get the service tag number after a certain point in the build.

Just called in to check my order status. I ordered on Aug. 7th with an EDD of Sept 7th. The lady told me that they were still waiting for the parts for the laptop to come in and it would arrive in 2-3 days and shipped somewhere around Sept 7th.
It's been 2 weeks and the parts aren't even in yet. Ugh..

Some of us have waited longer lol... I know I've not had THE longest wait but my EDD is scheduled for 2 months and a day after my order date. I don't expect Dell to make that EDD.
