    Hi guys,

I have a Dell Inspiron 5100 with the afore-mentioned video card (32MB) and I recently bought an Acer AL1916W widescreen LCD. It's native resolution is 1440x900. I was wondering if anyone knows a way to convince the graphics card that it can display that resolution. It's old enough that it doesn't even know widescreen exists. It's listed resolutions are all 4:3, from 640x480 up to 1600x1200.
I'm seriously doubting my chances here, and I'm not too worried about it because I'm upgrading in a couple weeks (as per my sig), but if anyone knows how to hack it I'd much appreciate the insight, as the stretched 1280x1024 looks god-awful. I've basically migrated over to my linux box cause it'll display whatever you tell it to.

    Thanks,
    Jay

P.S. If you're interested, I'm selling the Dell, either as a unit or in pieces. See my thread in the Buy/Sell forum, I'm taking offers, the list price is just to satisfy the forum rules and I will sell for less.
