Question: Does upgrading from 1440x900 to 1680 x 1050 solve grainyness? They've offered me one.

A dell manager for the vostro premium offered me an upgrade to the 1680 x 1050 screen with truelife, to try and fix the grainyness on my screen.

But is it just the same? Has anyone tried this screen?

My 1680 x 1050 is manufactured by Samsung and is grainy. However it is due to be replaced with an LG screen tomorrow which reportedly do not have the grainy problems.

Okay, I'll ask for that when they talk to me, and possibly some more ram.

just fyi if the dell reps say you will recieve a lg instead of a samsung you still may get a samsung... they HAVE NO WAY TO GAURANTEE YOU ANY SCREEN... ive been through this three times and also spoke with a dell executive and also escalations and they have all stated dell's csr's have 0 control over brands of screen nor does the case managers ....
