I've noticed recently that most companies offers 3 GB memory in 2 modules, incl. Dell. I find it strange. What module are they ? 2+1 GB? Will they run dual channel reliably ?

About the screen. I've never used LED backlight. I know they are battery-saving, but how good is it compared to CCFL ? Noticeable difference in color quality, contrast & sharpness ?

Does Dell have model with switchable video adapter (integrated & dedicated) like Lenovo T500 ?

It doesn't run dual channel, but you won't notice the difference anyway.

The LEDs are supposed to be a more pure white from what I understand, and they probably increase battery life. They will not improve sharpness though... you'll have to get a higher resolution screen for that.

It will run dual channel. Just "asymmetric" dual-channel. But yeah, you won't notice the difference between any of these dual-channels and single-channel.

AFAIK, LED lightning doesn't do anything to help or punish color quality, etc. It can help even out the brightness across your entire display, but picture quality depends a lot more on the type of panel you're using.

Furthermore, as far as I know, there are no Dells with purely switchable graphics. This may change soon, but nothing as of now. Some machines have hybrid graphics, but it's not quite the same thing.
