So i bit the bullet and saw (what I think) was amazing deal on the Dell Outlet Store and bought it:
    Price: $1039.00

that's a breif description of the system.

Anyway, I have a couple of questions about the Dell Outlet Store and it's refurbished Systems:

    1. If the system is instock why would dell give me an estimate shipping date (not arrival) that is week later.
    2. Why is my order still in "order processing" 3 days after purchasing it.
    3. Does a certified refurbished system come in the same packaging as brand new system?
    4. Why were there other systems with worse specs selling for more on the Dell Outlet store? Is something wrong (like blemishes etc) with my system? If so, why wasn't it labeled scratch and dent?
    5. What was your experience like ordering from Dell Outlet?
    6. Are the LED LCD screens glossy or matte? It didn't say True Life on the description.
    7. How much faster is the 7200RPM 320GB HD compared to the 5400 RPM model?

Thanks for taking the time in reading my post.

    1. When did you order this? In my experience they are quick to get this systems out. I once purchased on a Friday evening and they shipped in on Saturday.
    3. It is mostly the same. Whether or not you get the extras just kind of depends.
    4. Could have a blu-ray disc, not sure without looking at them.
    5. All of my orders have been great.
    6. They are glossy.
    7. If you are comparing the same size drive it'll be a bit faster. However if you compared a 500GB 5400 to a 320GB 7200, then the 500GB would be a bit faster due to high data density.

Thanks for the replies. Very helpful.

As for your first question, I ordered it Wednesday Night/Thursday Morning.

I got the "Dell Order Has Been Confirmed for Dell Purchase ID:XXX" email soon after purchasing.

On the Dell Order Status page, it says"
That estimate shipping date is literally 5 days after I made the Purchase. Why? I did add some little extras like wireless bluetooth mouse etc in addition the system.

Do you think that's why there's such a delay on the shipping date?

    oh and one last question:

Was this system I bought a good deal?

I would think it would be the extras you purchased. Though they could have made two shipments. I know the last Dell desktop we bought was with a wireless keyboard and it showed up after the actual system. This is probably why. You could always call up since they are kind of slow to update their shipping tracker.
