Questions about Dell/XPS1530

I'm planning on getting an XPS1530 for university next year, and I was wondering:

1) How long would it take to ship my order? (I live in Toronto, Ontario, CA) I want to make sure I have a decent amount of time to get anything fixed/changed if I need to (grainy screen, etc)

2) What time do the back-to-school sales start for Dell Canada?

3) Can anyone give me the lowdown on the webcam, which I DO plan to use. I've seen a lot of posts saying that it only gives 5fps even at the lowest resolution (WTF?) which if true could make me reconsider purchasing this laptop.

4) Do you think the battery prices will drop by june-july? I don't want to pay an extra 170 just for a larger battery...

 

They ship pretty fast... when you place your order, aproximately... like 1 week and you'll have it... dunno about Canada though...

*Tests Webcam* FPS goes around 5~10 fps in the camera mode... but when you take videos on it, its PRETTY DECENT.

I believe its possible. 9-Cell battery is worth it though... gives you more fuel

 

on mine the webcam is fine and i run it on full res. its the same as any webcam ive used really, not perfect but it seems smoother than most....
as for your other questions. i have no idea...

 

I hate to be the bearer of bad news but... When you will get it all depends on your specs... I ordered mine 27th and it isn't expected to ship on the 27th of May and receive it somewhere between the May 30th - June 3rd... Yes this is a long time... Keep in mind its estimated...

 

Yeah I realize some of those options say "This option may delay the shipment of your DELL XPS"

But I think bestbuy/futureshop are starting to stock XPSs, so I think I'll go there and check out the webcam before ordering it.
