    Hey all,

I just got my 1705 yesterday and was looking in to reformatting, but then I wasn't sure if the remote that came with it would work with XP pro or home, since that is the only other OS's I have (I didnt get the disk from Dell). It seems to just be a USB thing, but I honestly don't know. Anyone have any experience with this? Thanks.

Googling Media Portal led me to team-mediaportal.com, an open source media program. Is this what you are referring to? It looks neat, how do you like it?

Any MCE IR remote software will work with any operating system.
