Need some advice on this one.

I’m narrowed down my notebook requirements to what the 600m has to offer in terms of screen size, wireless, battery life, price, and weight. Low end PM processor, 512 meg ram, low end HD, one step up from XGA. I want to know about connecting via cellular type technology (Dell TrueMobile 5100?) in Canada. As well as using connectivity issues and service payment issues with using hot spots in coffee shops for when I need that high speed connection. Also, what video card will let me watch DVD’s smoothly, without overkill?

Having asked all that, the keyboard is important to me, so is getting a wireless mouse. So, are there any other recommended manufactures out there that I should be looking into? Canadian websites and prices are best.

Oh yeah, any advice on getting a good deal for being a Canadian University student (for the hardware and software)?

Last thing: Where can I get some straight answers about XP Home Vs Professional?

    Thanks in advance,
    Donovan

For DVD's, pretty much any of the 64MB cards will do the trick. The air cards are nice, I'm not sure how good your coverage is, but I have a T-Mobile card which I really enjoy. They also offer hot spot service in the US at places like Starbucks. I'm sure you have a local equivelent.

32 MB is fine for DVD movies, but bad for games.

Looks like I don't need XP pro. Thanks for that.

Really?! I need 64 meg video ram to watch DVD's smoothly?

I had a look at the T-mobile web site. No info for Canadians. Anyone know where to find rate plans for Canada for this type of tech (any supplier would be good)?
