Just wondering, when is Dell going to release more information on their new, upgraded XPS M1210? I'm trying to decide between this and a Lenovo T61, and pricing/specs on the new M1210 could just wind up being the dealbreaker for me.

    Thanks for any input. :)

I'd like to know the answer too. Just by reading other forums it seems like the new m1210 will be available in the second quarter of 2007. I am not entirely sure of this though.

Considering Dell hasn't announced anything as of late, while all their major rivals have(Acer, HP, Sony, etc.), it should be within a few weeks I hope.

    I'd hope so.

You know, since I'm looking at an XPS M1210, I'd also kind of interested to see what Lenovo's X61 brings to the table.

I heard late june... Also, isnt the M1210 and X61 in different categories? I mean the M1210's gotta be around 1lbs heavier, and 1/4" thicker.

Technically, yes, but it's a far closer comparison than the M1210 to the T61, which I've also been considering.

I've yet hear anything other than rumor on any new models outside the lattitude line.

I have just sold my Dell 710m and was going to get the XPS M1210, but now after hearing some of this, I may wait a while.

My only concern is how much longer to wait?

I seem to have a habit of buying computers, Inspiron 9300 (9400), Dell 710m (XPS M12100) only to have both when I bought them each time a month later have the line evolve into a newer model. I would really hate that to happen if I went and bought the current XPS M1210 model.

Even if that information exists, Dell probably has that date as a tightly held secret that isn't supposed to be leaked. However, the information in that article seems plausible...but it also seems very obvious as pretty much everyone knows about Santa Rosa and DX10. They're also probably grasping at straws on the rest of the specs. But, it doesn't sound unreasonable either...and I guess we'll have to wait a few weeks to say for sure.
