    Questions on Updating the BIOS & Drivers

    Just curious here... I go by the most current DATE when updating BIOS & Drivers don't I? Stupid question maybe, but...

    I was checking online for BIOS updates for my XPS and entered my service tag and got this:

    Release Title: BIOS: Dell XPS M1530 System BIOS, English, XPS M1530, A05
    Release Date: 12/5/2007


    However whey I checked my current BIOS in System Info and I got this:

    Release Title: BIOS: Dell XPS M1530 System BIOS, English, XPS M1530, A07
    Release Date: 1/24/2008

    So apparently they updated my BIOS before shipping it to me last week?


    Why would the Dell site recommend an outdated BIOS?

    They haven't updated the site with the latest BIOS yet. They do it all the time.

    So, since I just got my notebook last Friday, those should be the most current, correct? I was reading a few threads here where they say to update the BIOS and drivers as soon as you get a new computers.

    Why would Dell have outdated BIOS on their website?
